LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab Central Leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Thursday that the PPP was not against accountability but against the discriminatory justice system in the country.
Recounting the arrest of former Sindh chief minister at a press conference, he said that Sharjeel Inam Memon was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over charges of embezzlement of Rs 6 billion.
Citing the example of former premier Nawaz Sharif, who was escorted to the Rawal Lounge of Punjab House by the Airport Security Force (ASF) officials where the NAB officials completed their proceedings against him, Kaira said that PPP will not tolerate double standards of justice in the country, adding that Sharjeel was not even allowed to step out from the plane and was detained NAB personnel.
